Kika Magalhaes is one of the ‘break-out’ actresses of 2016 after appearing in horror movie The ‘Eyes of My Mother’.

Kika Magalhaes was born in Vila Nova de Famalicão and studied at Universidade Independente de Lisbon. After living in London and Barcelona for a few years she moved to New York City in 2012 to study at Manhattan’s Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater.
Kika Magalhaes starred in the lead role of Francisca in The Eyes of My Mother (2016) which was released at Sundance. She has also starred in the science fiction production by Gus Van Sant called City of Gold (2016) and an independent film by Ken Kushner called Tapestry (2016).
Talking to O Jornal Kika stated “When I moved to the United States to pursue a career in acting, I thought that if I ever got the chance to say a couple of lines in a cheap production, I would be very lucky. To get the starring role in ‘The Eyes of My Mother’ and compete in the Sundance Festival, has gone above and beyond my wildest of dreams”
