Kirby Howell-Baptiste was born and raised in London. She started acting at an early age and when she was 12 her mother enrolled her to the Anna Scher Theatre, now known as the Young Actors Theatre.  During her high school years appeared in some projects such as The Permanent Way, and Rita, Sue and Bob Too.

Upon leaving high school Kirby starred in Echoic a West End play by Britain’s leading Black-led theatre company, the Talawa Theatre Company.  Following her passion in acting, Kirby started studying at the East 15 Acting School and then onto Los Angeles at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

In 2015, Baptiste appeared in the TV series House of Lies, the same year she also had role in another known TV series comedy Bang! Bang!.   She stars in TV series Love (2016) and has had a role in several TV series. She also performs improv on Harold Night at the USB Theatre.
